progress and make a difference. Job Description: Copia is seeking a
Sr. Manager/Director Portfolio Finance to support the growth and
financing of its renewable energy portfolio by leading innovative
capital-raising initiatives. The ideal candidate will be
responsible for portfolio-level financial analysis and modeling,
supporting the structuring and execution of third-party financing
transactions, and collaborating across teams to advance our
projects. This role requires deep experience in renewable energy
project finance, strong financial modeling and analytical
capabilities, excellent organizational and communication skills,
and a collaborative mindset aligned with a people-first culture.
The Sr. Manager/Director Portfolio Finance will report directly to
the Managing Director, Capital Markets, working closely with
Copia’s asset management, energy markets, legal, and finance teams
in an individual contributor capacity. Key Responsibilities:
Leading financing activities, including corporate debt facilities,
debt term conversions, tax equity fundings, refinancings, tax
equity partnership buyouts, and asset divestitures. Reviewing
changes to transaction and project documentation, negotiating
amendments and waivers, and seeking approval and consents from
financing parties. Managing transaction due diligence bringdown
processes at fundings, including working closely with consultants,
internal and external counsel, technical, and internal teams.
Collaborating across internal teams, including Capital Markets,
Construction, Corporate Finance, and Asset Management, to manage
ongoing financing requirements. Managing financial tracking models
and supporting internal/external modelling requests for projects in
construction and operations. Communicating professionally with
diverse internal and external stakeholders, including C-level
executives, financing institutions, and investors. Maintaining
relationships with tax equity investors, lenders, and other
financial partners in the renewable energy sector. What We Look
For: Knowledge of renewable energy development. Experience in
project finance and tax equity transactions, including maintaining
and auditing tracking models. Passion for renewables and a keen
interest in being a part of the climate change solution. Proven
transaction experience in the energy or infrastructure sector,
preferably at a developer, operating company, private equity,
management consulting, or banking. Understanding of tax-equity
structures and partnership tax principles, and construction/ term
loan facilities. Strong financial modeling skills and ability to
gather, organize, and draw conclusions from data. Excellent
organizational and project management skills with a strong
attention to detail. Exceptional verbal and written communication
skills, including discretion in handling confidential information
and in communicating with third parties. Ability to work
collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, manage
multiple deadlines, and identify critical items. Ability to
communicate effectively in verbal and written correspondence.
Highly driven with problem-solving abilities, integrity, and a
strong work ethic. Proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in
a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to work effectively
within a rapidly changing organization. Demonstrated collaborative
partnerships with peers, management, and vendors. Resourcefulness
and polite persistence. Minimum Qualifications: 5 to 10 years of
professional experience with a focus on project finance. 2 years of
renewable energy experience. Bachelor’s degree in finance,
accounting, or related field; MBA or CFA is a plus. Proven
experience with Microsoft Office, including advanced proficiency in
PowerPoint & Excel Experience with project management software
Ability to work in the Washington D.C. office a minimum of 3 days
per week is a strong preference. Also open to our other offices in
Salt Lake City, UT, Dana Point, CA, or Lake Oswego, OR office, a
minimum of 3 days per week. Ability to travel up to 25% Applicants
