SUMMARY: - The primary purpose of the Dietitian is to help promote
healthy eating habits to prevent and treat illness through
supervision of food preparation and service, dietary modifications,
and education. Provide sound advice to patients on healthy eating
habits and evaluate dietary treatments of diseases. Provide an
extremely reliable and unbiased source of information for the
entire medical team, including doctors, nurses, physical
therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and
pharmacists. Develop dietary plans to meet the nutritional
requirements of individual patients according to their medical
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate the health and diet needs of patients
Calculate patient nutritional requirements
Analyze nutritional content of food
Educate other healthcare professionals about food and nutrition
Conduct dietary, nutritional, and epidemiological research
Monitors and records patients' eating patterns -
Interact with the Food Service Director to ensure that every meal
is made in accordance with the nutritional guidelines
Document the dietary component of resident's care plans. -
Review and revise each resident's progress toward care plan goals.
Follow the dietary component of resident's assessments and care
Complete the assigned MDS section(s) in a timely manner. -
Follow Residents' Rights polices at all times. -
Assume Quality Assurance duties as assigned. -
Perform other related duties as directed by the Administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS: - To perform this job successfully, an individual

Degree in nutritional services or relevant professional experience
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition & enthusiasm, as
well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity
level they are currently functioning.
Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and
be willing to incorporate them into existing food practices.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other
individuals in the workplace.
Plan diets and menus for review by the consultant.
