The People Operations Specialist provides high-quality operational
and administrative support to HR Operations Managers, ensuring
accurate execution of HR processes across the employee lifecycle.
This role is responsible for processing employee changes,
maintaining data integrity, supporting compensation and benefits
transactions, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and
regulatory requirements. Operating within an HRBP-led model
supported by Centers of Excellence (COEs), the People Operations
Specialist serves as the execution arm of People
Operations—enabling HR People Partners to focus on strategic
advisory work and COEs to deliver specialized programs. Odyssey

Employee Lifecycle & Transactional Support Process employee
lifecycle transactions, including new hires, transfers, promotions,
compensation changes, status changes, and terminations, under the
direction of the HR Operations Manager. Ensure timely and accurate
data entry into HRIS and related systems, validating approvals,
documentation, and effective dates. Prepare and maintain employee
records in compliance with record-retention and confidentiality
standards. Support offboarding processes, including system access
removal, documentation collection, and coordination with Payroll
and IT. Compensation & Benefits Processing Support Execute approved
compensation changes, including merit increases, market
adjustments, bonuses, stipends, and other pay actions, ensuring
proper documentation and payroll readiness. Support benefits
administration activities such as new hire enrollments, qualifying
life events, and annual open enrollment processing. Assist with
reconciliation of benefits data between HRIS, Payroll, and vendor
platforms; escalate discrepancies to the HR Operations Manager.
Support leave-related benefit coordination, including premium
deductions and eligibility tracking, in partnership with HR
Operations and external vendors. HRIS & Data Integrity Maintain
accurate employee data in HRIS, including job codes, pay rates, FTE
status, benefit eligibility, and organizational assignments. Run
standard and ad-hoc reports to support audits, compliance, and
operational reporting needs. Perform routine data audits to
identify and correct discrepancies across HRIS, Payroll, and
benefits systems. Support testing and implementation of HRIS
updates, new workflows, and system enhancements. Compliance &
Documentation Ensure People Operations practices align with
applicable employment laws and internal policies, including wage
and hour requirements, benefits eligibility rules, and
documentation standards. Maintain personnel files (electronic
and/or physical) in accordance with regulatory and accreditation
requirements. Support internal and external audits by preparing
documentation and reports as requested. Assist with
compliance-related communications and employee notices as directed.
Operational Support & Service Delivery Respond to employee and
manager inquiries related to HR processes, status of requests, and
documentation, escalating complex or sensitive issues to the HR
Operations Manager. Track and manage HR service requests through
ticketing systems or shared inboxes to ensure timely resolution and
service-level adherence. Support People Operations process
documentation, job aids, and standard operating procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline
workflows and improve accuracy and efficiency. Team Collaboration
Partner closely with HR Operations Managers to prioritize work,
manage deadlines, and support peak activity periods (e.g., open
enrollment, merit cycles). Collaborate with Payroll, IT, COEs, and
HR People Partners to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent
execution. Maintain professionalism, discretion, and a
customer-service mindset in all interactions. Requirements:
Required Qualifications Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Human
Resources, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent
experience. 3–5 years of experience in HR administration, People
Operations, or HR shared services. Experience processing HR
transactions in an HRIS environment. Strong attention to detail and
commitment to data accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and
deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High level of discretion and
confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting HR
Operations in a regulated environment (healthcare, nonprofit,
government-funded programs). Familiarity with HRIS platforms such
as Paylocity, Workday, UKG, ADP, or similar. Experience with
benefits administration and compensation processing. HR
certification (aPHR, SHRM-CP) or progress toward certification.

drive (or adequate alternate transportation), sit for prolonged
periods, and perform light to moderate physical activity at times.
