Please note, this position is located at Deer Valley Resort in Park City, UT.DescriptionPURPOSE OF POSITION: Supervise daily operations of the Mountain Venue Operations department. Answer directly to MVO Manager and Assistant. Oversee crews in the field, ensuring that department objectives and goals are being met. Be an effective small team leader. Ensure that crews are meeting all DVR policies, following company procedures, and maintaining a high standard of professionalism. - Please note that this position will have a period of a few weeks of reduced hours to part time during the off seasons depending on labor load. Job Duties and Responsibilities (winter):

• Participate in all elements of Race Hill and on-mountain events planning; staff recruiting, training and scheduling; and other administrative responsibilities as assigned
• Supervise Race Hill NASTAR Crew and daily venue operations
• Ensure daily Race Hill procedures are compliant with DVR mountain operations
• Assist with pre-event construction for Race/Freestyle events as assigned
• Develop strong working relationships with crew and other DVR staff members
• Promote and implement DVR employee race series
• Assume all MVO Managers' duties and responsibilities during their absence
• Safely operate snowmobiles, snow cats, and other resort equipment
• Assist with load-in/out of vendor equipment (i.e. scaffold, speakers, lights, sound boards, etc.) at various mountain venue locations
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of DVR's winter activities Job Duties and Responsibilities: (summer):
  • Direct grounds maintenance crew and assist with daily operations as needed
  • Develop working relationships with staff and other DVR supervisors and managers
  • Maintain and operate automated sprinkler systems at all Lodges, Deer Valley Plaza, Cushing's Cabin and Marsac Sign
  • Maintain lawns, flowers, and other vegetation around all Lodges, Deer Valley Plaza, Cushing Cabin and the ROS in an efficient and safe manner
  • Operate all lawn-maintenance equipment, both motorized and hand-held in an efficient and safe manner
  • Collect trash, debris and operate parking lot sweeper in an efficient and safe manner
  • Safely operate pick-up trucks, equipment trailers, other fleet vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Set-up and dismantle the DVR summer concert stage, sound booth, amphitheater tent structure, chairs and other venue equipment
  • Assist with load-in/out of vendor equipment (i.e. scaffold, speakers, lights, sound boards, etc.) at various mountain venue locations
  • Ensure summer maintenance work for various winter mountain venues (i.e. ski corrals, Race Hill, White Owl, Champion, etc.) are completed in an efficient and safe manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of DVR's summer activities Specific Job Requirements:
    • Previous supervisor and/or management experience preferred
    • Previous ski industry work history required
    • Must have competent communication, organization, leadership and guest service skills
    • Expert skiing ability
    • Proficient computer word processing and spreadsheet skills
    • Must have a valid driver's license to operate Deer Valley vehicles
    • Must be competent in or be willing to learn operation of various types of heavy equipment including: skid-steer, backhoe, loader, all-terrain forklift, tractor, snow cat, etc.
    • Must be competent in or be willing to learn operation of light equipment such as snowmobiles, four wheelers, pickup trucks, UTV's, riding lawnmower, etc.
    • Knowledge/previous experience in ski racing, NASTAR, FIS, winter competitions
    • Must have an aptitude for problem solving, construction, landscaping, irrigation, concrete-work, etc.
    • Must be available to work any scheduled shift Monday through Sunday
    • Must have the desire/ability to tolerate working in varying weather conditions for extended periods of timeRequirements
